Short version: your videos never leave your device. We never see them.
Steenox's video tools (converter, compressor, trimmer, audio extractor, GIF maker) run entirely inside your web browser using open-source video technology (FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly). When you choose a file, it is read and processed locally on your own phone or computer. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, stored, or viewed by us — we operate no service that receives them.
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and operation. These logs may record your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We use this information only to keep the site running and secure, and we do not combine it with any other data — because there is no other data.
The video engine is loaded from a public content delivery network (CDN). Loading it is the same as loading any widely used web library: the CDN may log the download request according to its own privacy policy. We add no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels and no social-media trackers of our own.
Steenox itself sets no cookies. If we introduce advertising in the future (for example Google AdSense, to keep the tools free), the advertising provider may use cookies to serve ads — and this policy will be updated to describe it before that happens.
Steenox is a general-audience utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and given how the site works — no accounts, no uploads — there is nothing for a child to hand over in the first place.
